At Dr. Duguid's, we feel a loose denture is a the first sign that it doesn't fit your mouth correctly. When you are initially getting used to your new dentures, you may feel them slipping when you laugh, smile, or cough, which is caused by air getting under the base and decreasing the suction. The more you wear dentures, the better you will be able to control their movements in situations like these.
If your budget allows, we almost always recommend the placement of dental implants to replace missing teeth. But, if you are not a candidate for implants, the a denture may be the only choice.
